Weekly Announcements from Pastor Valerie Brown-Greenly, Senior Pastor

Wednesday December 9, 2020
Dear Friends,
We continue to transition between our current website and our new website. This transition has necessarily been in stages.  The complete migration from one website to the new website will be complete the week after Christmas.
To help you navigate this time, I am going to give you a temporary website address for the new website:  peacelutherancr.com.  For the time being, you can continue to access worship and other contacts through our current website, but if you are having difficulty with worship, please use the temporary address for the new website.
With that, as you know, we did have an email failure over this last weekend. If you sent an important email last Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday, please consider resending your email.  This doesn’t happen often, but when it does, I know it can be frustrating.  There will be a couple of days after the Christmas holiday when the email will again probably be down due to the permanent migration from one website to the new one.  We chose the week of Christmas as we felt the email volume might be a bit lower for those few days.  We continue to try and provide the best service possible and we certainly thank you for your patience.  The website address:  peacecoonrapids.org will be the permanent web address once the migration is complete.  Until then, use the temporary one provided in the last paragraph.
Thank you to everyone who has been donating to the Christmas family program!  Items have continued to come in and we believe our congregation is doing a fantastic ministry with our Peace families and school families.  If you are donating puzzles, family games or gift cards, the deadline for those items is Tuesday morning, December 15, between 8:30am-Noon.
If you wish to donate to the Food Shelf for the Christmas baskets, here are some items we still need: spaghetti noodles, boxed pastas, canned chicken, jam/jelly, boxed oatmeal.  Because of your generosity we will be able to complete and distribute these holiday food baskets!  If you are donating to the Food Shelf, the deadline is the same as above.
On Saturday, I have a gravesite service for one of our members.  I will open the church at 8am on Saturday and will be available to you until 10:30am. Debbie Clipson will keep the church open for me during the funeral.  On Saturday, you can drop off donations from 8am-Noon.  Then again on Tuesday morning, I will open the office at 8:30am and be there for you until noon. (Tuesday is the deadline.)
You might ask, ‘why is the office only open on some weekday and weekend mornings’?  The answer is: we/I need to spend the rest of the day doing work in the office or with other responsibilities that keep me/us from being able to manage greeting folks and doing other items and ministries for the good order of our congregation.  Thank you for your ongoing flexibility.
As always, I am ready to have a conversation with you in person or over the phone.  I have kept Thursday mornings open for in person meetings; and am, of course, available at other times when we make appointments for private conversations.  I want to continue to be available to any person who needs to visit and pray together.  You are a very important part of our community. Please let me know how I can be of help.
I hope by now, you have been enjoying your Advent Devotionals and have taken note of the worship schedule for online worship, concerts and Christmas Eve plans.  Many of you have returned your pledge cards in person and through the mail.  Thank you for helping us better budget for the coming year.
This is the season of Advent and a time of spiritual contemplation as we prepare for our Christmas celebrations.  Be blessed…be safe…take care…
Pastor Valerie
