Weekly Announcements from Pastor Valerie Brown-Greenly, Senior Pastor
Dear Friends,
As you read this newsletter, Peace Lutheran and Genoa Healthcare are in the second day of our vaccination clinic for Mental Health Care Workers of Anoka County. What an honor to be able to offer this service in our community and through our church!
Remember, Thursday morning, you will be able to drop off donations and other items from 8:30am-Noon, since we were not able to accept donations yesterday or today. I’ll keep you posted from one week to the next on upcoming clinics and open office hours.
The Annual Meeting of Peace Lutheran Church will be held on Zoom on Sunday, February 14, at 11:00am. This meeting is open to all members. Please email the office at [email protected] of your intention to attend. In the body of the email, please list your name and the names of any other members who live with you who will be in attendance on zoom. Also, please include the email address that you want the link sent to that morning. One link per household. Please include your cell phone number or any change of address at that time. On the subject line, write “Annual Meeting Registration.’ If you have any questions, please contact the church office or contact me directly.
Reminder: all members will receive a mailing containing the materials and instruction for the Annual Meeting.
On the day of the meeting, you will receive a link and be admitted sometime around 10:45am. Please mute when you enter the meeting and be patient as we assist others into the meeting.
Lent is just around the corner. I ordered materials for Sunday School age children. These items will go out in a separate mailing. Materials for middle school and high school youth will also go out in a separate mailing.
In addition, I have 125 Lenten kits for households. The kits include a Lenten devotional, a Lenten calendar, an offering box, the Ash Wednesday bulletin, and ashes to go.
These kits may be picked up at the church on:
Thursday, February 11, from 8:30-Noon
Saturday, February 13, from 10-Noon
Someone will be at the doors by the flag pole on Saturday morning
as participants in the vaccination clinic will be using the office entry
Ash Wednesday, February 17, from 7:30am-Noon, and from 1:00pm – 5:00pm
On Ash Wednesday, February 17, I will be at church at 7:30am-Noon, and from 1:00pm-5:00pm to offer forgiveness and absolution, along with individual imposition of ashes. Please make this one of your disciplines as we begin the season of Lent. The Ash Wednesday bulletin will be available. Please join us for live stream worship on Ash Wednesday evening, February 17, at 6:30pm.
I hope you are having a good week! Take care, be safe…
Pastor Valerie
