Dear Friends,
Things seem to be going smoothly with our re-opening plans. Thank you so much for all of your cooperation with arrival, masking and departures. You are amazing. You will notice I continue to increase the numbers on the sign-up-genius, and will expect to halt it’s use in the next few weeks. (With summer and travel plans, I think we will be able to continue to mask and be distant enough in worship, as many will be traveling and having vacation throughout the summer.)
We have Coffee Fellowships planned–two in June and two in July. With bars and restaurants opening to full capacity, we will experiment with a couple of fellowship hall refreshment times each month and see how we do. We are throwing around the idea of having a picnic in August. I’ll keep you posted.
Thank you for the ongoing donations to the Food Shelf. We will do a distribution in June and also in August.
The Finance Team met last night and while we are on target, we need to attend to the ebb and flow of a season, particularly with the summer months upon us. If it’s possible for you and your family, consider making an extra financial gift to the mission and ministry of Peace Lutheran. We do not want anyone to give beyond their ability to do so. If you are under a financial hardship due to covid, or underemployment or unemployment, we would never ask you to put yourself at risk. If you have been blessed and are being led to give, please consider an additional gift.
Vacation Bible School will be held the second full week of August: the 9th-13th. We need youth helpers to lead the children and to help with outdoor games. Please contact me with your willingness to help. Sixth and seventh graders will receive 15 service hours for the week, and the eighth graders will volunteer as youth leaders for the week. Thank you in advance for your help! These volunteers will be helping from 8:30am-Noon on those days.
One reminder: please remember there will be no in-person worship on Memorial Weekend Sunday, May 30. The Minneapolis Area Synod will be providing worship. The service will be uploaded to our Facebook Worship Page and also our website.
