Dear Friends,
I wanted to share a few notes and reminders with you today. I hope your week is going well.
Confirmation classes meet this evening from 6:00pm-7:00pm. High School Youth Group meets from 7:30pm-9:00pm. There are no classes, activities or youth group next Wednesday, October 20, for MEA week.
This coming Sunday, October 17, middle school youth and high school youth are invited to meet at Bowlero, in Blaine. We have reserved 20 spots for bowling from Noon until 2:00pm. The cost is $20 dollars which includes shoe rental, bowling, two slices of pizza and unlimited beverages. Please arrive at Noon and check in with Jessie! Parents, please pick your student up by 2:00pm.
If your child is interested in attending the National Youth Gathering, we need to get registrations in. Please contact me or Pastor Tim with questions and interest. National Youth Gathering will be held in Minneapolis in July of 2022, July 24-28. This is an unbelievably amazing experience!
Next week, office hours are limited to Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30am-Noon. The church office will be closed on Thursday, October 21, as staff are offsite.
There is no in person worship on Sunday, October 24. Worship will be uploaded and streamed at 10:00am. Thank you for joining us on live stream and on our website on Sunday, October 24. In person worship continues on Reformation Sunday, October 31, at 10:00am.
We are holding another Pfizer Clinic on Monday, October 25, at Peace Lutheran. Please contact me if you wish an appointment. Remember, you must be 6 months out from your second Pfizer vaccine to qualify for a booster. If you have questions, or want to make an appointment, please use my cell number and text or call me and I will get you set up.
The Peaceful Country Boutique is Friday, October 29, from 4:00pm-8:00pm. Supper will be served from 5:00pm-7:00pm. It continues on Saturday, October 30, from 9:00am-2:00pm. Lunch will be served from 11:00am-1:00pm. Please come and enjoy all the crafts, the baked goods and the meals. The Peaceful Country Boutique is sponsored by the Women of Peace Lutheran. Masking is required throughout the building.
Trunk or Treat is Sunday, October 31, from 5:00pm-6:30pm. I would appreciate everyone who can, to please host a car in the parking lot. You can begin parking any time after 4:00pm. Please continue to bring bagged candy donations to the church office. It’s amazing how many bags of candy we can distribute in such a short period of time! If you are the parent of a confirmation student, hosting a car is a wonderful opportunity for your student to come and have fun handing out candy for the evening. There will be a costume contest for all middle school and high school youth. The one caveat is that everyone should wear appropriate costumes, be creative in your selections.
All Saints Sunday is November 7. During worship, we will acknowledge those of our loved ones and members who have entered the Kingdom of God these past two years. The Sanctuary will be decorated with arrangements of white roses given in memory of departed loved ones. The names of those remembered will be printed in the bulletin. If you are interested in purchasing a rose in memory of a loved one, please make out a check in the amount of $5.00 per rose, and include your name(s) and in whose memory the rose is being given. You may use a pew envelope and/or include the information on a sheet of paper. Please place it in the offering plate, mail it to church or drop it off at church. The last day to order is Sunday, October 31.
We are preparing a newsletter which will be mailed on Tuesday, October 26. The newsletter will highlight worship, activities and events through the beginning of the New Year.
