Important announcement for Wednesday evening this week. NO CONFIRMATION OR HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP. Spirit Time will meet on Wednesday evening as scheduled. There are a couple of illnesses on staff and it seemed wise to cancel the confirmation and high school youth group. No one has covid, a couple of people have bad colds and are resting this week.
Thanksgiving Holiday Baskets are being dispersed on Monday, November 22. Here are the items that are still needed: stuffing mix, pancake syrup, jarred gravy and child friendly boxed cereal. These items need to arrive by Thursday, November 18. Thank you so much for your generosity and taking the extra energy to do this shopping.
The Pfizer Orange Clinic (for children ages 5-11) is Tuesday, November 23, from 5:30pm-8:00pm. Please contact me by text, cell, or email to schedule your child. Your child/children will receive the second Pfizer dose on Thursday, December 16. You will make that appointment with your child’s vaccinator at your first appointment.
Pfizer/Moderna Booster Clinic is on Tuesday, November 30. Please contact me by cell, text, email, or message me on Facebook to set up your appointments. We will have both vaccines available that day.
Give to the Max Day is this coming Thursday, November 18. Please consider making an extra, sacrificial financial gift this week. Thank you so much for your ongoing generosity and financial giving and gifting to the ministry of Peace Lutheran.
Importantly, for those of you who might be struggling this season, please reach out to me if I can be of any help. These invitations to make extra financial gifts and giving are for those among us who are blessed and want to share that blessing with others. As Senior Pastor, I want to know your journey and struggle and find ways to support you and your family through any difficulty. Please reach out if you would like to receive a Christmas Holiday Basket this year. Those contacts are all confidential.
Thanksgiving Eve Service will be held on Wednesday evening, November 24, at 6:30pm. Join us as we give thanks for our blessings this season!
National Youth Gathering, youth and adults; we will be meeting on Sunday, December 12, following worship. This is will be a brief meeting, but an important meeting, so please contact me if you are not available.
If you would like to help sponsor a young person for the National Youth Gathering, please mark your donation as “Sponsor, National Youth Gathering.” Thank you for your help in making it possible for our youth to attend the Gathering in July!
Covid 19 Update: The infection rate across Minnesota is now at 10%. If you are sick or not feeling well, you are encouraged to stay home. Obviously, there are colds, flu and other illnesses out and about; even so, to keep one another safe, we need to be cautious. Correct masking is required throughout the building. The mask should be worn to cover the mouth and the nose. We are not cancelling or postponing any events or worship times as scheduled, and will enforce correct masking at all events, activities and worship services. If you have yet to have a booster, and it has been six months or more since your second vaccination, please contact me and we can get you either a Pfizer or Moderna booster on Tuesday, November 30. Keep in mind, that after six months, the efficacy of the vaccination declines, and at 8 months and beyond, the efficacy declines greatly. Because of the holidays, this will be the last booster clinic until January 2022. Again, email me, text, message me on Facebook, or call my cell and I’ll get you set up. Let’s do what we can to flatten this pandemic and care for one another.
