Weekly Announcements from Pastor Valerie Brown-Greenly, Senior Pastor
Dear Friends,
I want to start by thanking all of you who hosted cars for the Trunk or Treat event on Sunday evening! I believe the children and families had a lot of fun!! It ended up being a little cooler than expected, but at least it wasn’t snowing. Next year we can re-incorporate the hot dogs, chips and hot drinks.
The Women of Peace thank everyone for participating in the Peaceful Country Boutique this last weekend! A special thanks to Judy Svenddal and the whole crew for making it such a special event and thank you for your generosity and participation!! They will host a mini boutique in December, so we can enjoy some more of the great crafts, baked goods, and conversations!
Line Dancing has moved to a new time. Come out for some music, dancing and fun, Sunday, November 7, from 2:00pm-4:00pm, here at Peace. We are trying a new time during the day so more people might be able to attend. This is open to everyone, no experience in dancing is necessary!
This week, we have office hours today and tomorrow, from 8:30am-Noon, and tonight from 5:00-7:00pm. Next week, office hours revert to normal, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30am-Noon, and Wednesday evening from 5:00pm-7:00pm.
Remember, this coming Sunday is All Saints Sunday worship at 10:00am, in person and on livestream. It’s also Daylight Savings Time. I’d tell you to set your clocks back an hour, but in this digital age, our phones will reset themselves and we will enjoy an extra hour of sleep.
Give to the Max is Thursday, November 18! We will have a link on the website for those of you who want to make a special, extra financial gift. If you prefer, you can use the giving button on the website, or as usual, make extra gifts through envelope giving, First Fruits, and automated giving. If you have questions or need assistance, please call Arlen Missling or Deb Bode in the church office and they can assist you. As ever, we appreciate your sacrificial giving, but do not want individuals and families who are going through difficult times to feel pressured, we are here to serve you. Thank you for your ongoing giving and gifting to Peace Lutheran. We continue to work together in serving God’s people, and you continue to make a difference in the lives of those in our community and surrounding communities!
As the holidays approach, please reach out to me if you or your family would appreciate a holiday basket. These contacts are kept confidential. You can reach me on my cell, through text and email, or contact me on my private line through the church office. I am here to serve you and want to hear from you! Holiday Basket / Food Shelf donations needed: jars of gravy, stuffing mixes, canned fruits and vegetables, child friendly breakfast cereal, and boxed oatmeal.
Please be in prayer for those in our congregation who’s names you hear in the weekly prayers of the church. There are many who are going through significant illnesses, surgeries, and cancer treatments. There are many who are mourning the death of loved ones.
Have a good week. Take care…be safe…
Pastor Valerie
