I hope your week is going well and you are looking forward to Thanksgiving plans with family and friends. Thanksgiving Eve worship on Wednesday will be in-person, the worship will not be live streamed. The remainder of office hours this week are Wednesday morning from 8:30am-Noon. The office will be closed on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day. Next week office hours are limited to Wednesday and Thursday morning from 8:30am-Noon. There is a vaccination clinic on Tuesday, November 30.
Pfizer/Moderna Booster Clinic, Tuesday, November 30. If you desire a booster, please schedule one through me by email, text, cell call, or message me on Facebook. I will continue to take appointments through the holiday weekend. There will not be another adult booster clinic until sometime in January of 2022.
Advent Worship begins next Wednesday evening, December 1, at 6:30pm. Please join us for a family crafting activity at 5:45pm. We hope to see you at crafting and in worship! Pastoral staff will be taking turns leading each Wednesday worship. Advent Worship is Wednesdays, December 1, 8, and 15. December 15 is also First Communion. Please join us as we celebrate the children celebrating the Eucharist.
Thanksgiving food baskets were distributed yesterday, and we are well underway with preparations for the Christmas food baskets. This year we are asking that those who wish would donate $25 gift cards from either Target or Walmart. We will include the gift cards in the baskets with other holiday treats so parents can shop for the needs of the family. Also, we are asking for Candy Canes, the old fashioned red and white ones. If you wouldn’t mind, please donate red and white candy canes. (Regular size, not the gigantic ones.)
The food donations needed for holiday baskets include peanut butter and jelly, pancake mix and syrup, macaroni and cheese, canned fruit, corn, green beans, tuna and chicken, and child friendly boxed cereal. Thank you!!
This coming Saturday, November 27, we will be decorating the church for Advent and Christmas. I have invited our middle school and high school youth to help. If you would like to help, please arrive between 9 and 9:30am. We hope to be finished by Noon.
Poinsettias will decorate our Sanctuary for the Christmas holiday. Please make out a check in the amount of $10.00 per plant, and include your name(s) and in whose memory, honor or celebration the plant is being given. You may use a pew envelope and/or include the information on a sheet of paper. Please place it in the offering plate, mail it to church or drop it off at church. The last day to order is Sunday, December 12. Poinsettias may be picked up after the 10:00pm service ends on Christmas Eve or during holiday office hours.
The Women of Peace will host a Mini-Boutique on Saturday, December 11, from 9:00am-1:00pm, and Sunday, December 12, from 9:00am-Noon. The Sunday morning worship at 10:00am features the Sunday School Christmas Program. If you would like to help with set up and other needs for the event, please sign up in the Fellowship Hall.
