Dear Friends,
I hope your week is going well, and your preparations for the Christmas season are on target for you and your family! This email contains some important information for the next two weeks, as will next week’s email.
Thank you so much for all the donations to the Holiday Christmas Baskets. Whatever we haven’t received by Thursday morning at noon, I will be shopping for on Friday to complete the food portions of the baskets. Thank you so much for the gift card donations. We are accepting $25 gift cards from Walmart and Target. If you desire, you can donate gift cards on Thursday morning and, if more convenient, bring them with you to worship on Sunday morning. Christmas Holiday Baskets will be distributed on Monday, December 20, between 4:00-6:00pm. Thank you for making the holidays brighter for families of Peace Lutheran, local school families and community families!
National Youth Gathering participants should plan on being available on Monday evening, December 20, from 4:00pm-6:00pm, to help with basket distributions. I have the tee shirt order and want to get those out to you next week. If you cannot help that evening, please reach out to me, and I’ll get your shirts out to you.
Sunday, December 19, at 10:00am, is Christmas Story Sunday worship. We hope to see many of you in worship, for this meaningful and fun morning!
Also, you will be able to sign up for the picture directory. Photographers will be here on January 10 and 11. If you choose instead to submit a picture to the directory, please bring the photo to the office and Pastor Tim will scan it and get it back to you. All inquiries for the picture directory should be made to Pastor Tim. He will be available on Sunday to answer your questions.
Middle School and High School Youth Don’t forget the Advent Party on Sunday, December 19, at the AMC theatre. Please arrive by 1:00pm for the movie, and be picked up after the movie. Everyone should bring money for their tickets and for refreshments. At this time, the plan is to see “Spiderman”. We hope to see many of you there!
Office hours will be limited next week. We will be open on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 8:30am-Noon. On Thursday, staff will be working on the placement of flowers, finalizing office needs, printing bulletins, and pastoral care matters. If you need me on Thursday, December 23, please reach out to me and we will find a time to meet or visit.
Christmas Eve Worship is December 24, at 10:00am, 4:00pm with special Children’s Time, and 10:00pm. All worship services have candlelight, Holy Communion and special music. We hope to see you in worship! The services are in person and with livestream.
On Sunday, December 26, there will be a pre-recorded worship provided by the Minneapolis Synod at 9:00am, followed by the CODA Christmas concert broadcast at 10:00am. There is no in person worship on Sunday, December 26, or on Sunday, January 2. The worship service on Sunday, January 2, will feature a pre-recorded worship by the Minneapolis Area Synod at 9:00am, followed by the PLC Holiday Concert broadcast at 10:00am. We hope these worships bless you and yours over this holiday season!
Office Hours after Christmas are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30am-Noon. We will also be available on Friday morning, from 8:30am-11:00am, for the purpose of end of the year donations.
COVID Update: We will continue masking throughout the building and in worship during the holiday season. This is not ideal, but as disciplined Christians, we will move forward for the health and safety of every member. Appropriate masking is over the nose and the mouth.
