Dear Friends,
Soon 2021 will come to a close and we will open the chapter on a new year. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed time with your family and friends! We certainly enjoyed having many of you here for Christmas Eve worships last week! It was wonderful to see so many of you and have an opportunity to visit together.
A special thank you to my staff and all of the volunteers who made the holiday season memorable for so many. Please thank those you see for all of their work and dedication. It takes all of us together to coordinate the many pieces and parts of events, activities and worships during the season. I am blessed and we are blessed to have such an amazing group of people!
Christmas Holiday Baskets blessed 60 families in our Peace community, through the schools and the surrounding community. Thank you for all of your donations of food and gift cards! You continue to make a difference as you care for the neighbor. As always, we are thankful for your ongoing food donations to our Food Shelf. We have rightfully depleted many of our core items, and we look forward to your donations of food in the coming weeks. We need most items, beginning with pancake mix and syrup, peanut butter and jelly/jam, canned tuna, canned chicken, spaghetti sauce and pasta, and boxed oatmeal.
A few reminders: there are office hours tomorrow from 8:30am-Noon. If you haven’t already, please pick up the poinsettia you ordered. Arlen Missling will be here on Friday, from 8:30am -11:00am, for those of you who are dropping off your ‘end of the year’ financial gifts. Next week, office hours are normal: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from 8:30am-Noon, and Wednesday evening from 5:00-7:00pm.
Confirmation and Spirit Time resume next Wednesday, January 5.
This coming Sunday morning, January 2, there will be a Synod prepared worship broadcast online at 9:00am, followed by the PLC Holiday Concert, broadcast online at 10:00am. We hope you enjoy these two online opportunities on Sunday, January 2. Regular, in-person worship resumes on Sunday, January 9, at 10:00am. This service is also livestreamed.
If you haven’t signed up to have your photo taken for the pictorial directory, please contact Pastor Tim to do so. You also have the option of turning photos in for the directory. You may drop those at the church office and Pastor Tim will scan them and return them to you on Sunday mornings, beginning January 9.
As you know, we are continuing to mask throughout the building. Thank you for your flexibility in continuing to care for others who cannot be vaccinated, have chosen not to be vaccinated, and for our families with children under 12 who have yet to be vaccinated or by family choice, will not be. I continue to track infection rates in Minnesota each day, and Peace will respond when rates have decreased to a place where it is no longer necessary to mask.
