Dear Friends,
I hope your week is going well! A few announcements for this week. We will continue with livestream worship this coming Sunday, January 16, along with Confirmation, Spirit Time and High School Youth Group not meeting this evening. Many of the surrounding congregations are delaying all children and youth programing through the end of January. Because of the situations in our community, I wouldn’t be surprised if this will be the case at Peace as well.
For the time being, I will update our schedule during Sunday morning announcements and the weekly email. Thank you for your patience during this transitional time. The Covid curve which has been rising, is expected to fall in the next few weeks. Peace will return to in-person worship as infection numbers decrease, while always keeping the safety of our members and friends as our highest consideration.
We are offering a Pfizer/Moderna Booster Clinic on Friday, January 28, for persons who are 12 years old and older who are at least 5 months out from their last dose of either vaccine. Importantly, the only way to schedule is to contact me directly by text message or email. When you text me, list your name and the names and ages of all who desire a booster, including which booster you prefer. This cuts down on the number of times we will need to trade text messages. I will respond and assign a time. Please bring your vaccination card to the appointment. All minors must be accompanied by a parent.
Office hours next week are limited to Tuesday morning from 8:30am-Noon. There is a private, family funeral on Wednesday, January 19, so we will not be able to greet you the morning of the funeral. I will be keeping Thursday mornings open for those of you who have made in-person appointments. I will modify the office hours each week and announce them in this email and during Sunday morning announcements.
Camp Wapo registration opens for kids grades 1 thru 12, on Saturday, January 15 thru Tuesday, February 15. Camp dates for Ox Root and Wapo youth grades 4 thru 12 is July 24-29. Seed weekend for grades 1 thru 3 is July 29-31.
Gertens Plant Sale fundraiser is kicking off the first week in March if you would like to fundraise for Wapo. Please contact Karleen Fusenig with any questions at sundayschool@peacecoonrapids.
Thank you for continuing your donations for the Food Shelf. Items needed this week include hearty soups, cooking/cream soups, pasta, canned fruit and vegetables, kid friendly crackers and snacks.
Thank you as well for your ongoing financial giving and gifting. As we are not able to gather in person right now, your financial gifting is especially appreciated. In one of my last emails, I mentioned we had finished the year in a stable financial position and we have so much to be thankful for! Next week, I am looking forward to introducing this year’s stewardship campaign. I think it will be meaningful and fun, and I look forward to working together as we move forward these coming months.
