Dear Friends,
Let’s begin with the worship announcement for this coming Sunday, February 20. As most of you know, this will be a pre-record of worship which will be uploaded at 10:00am. The staff has Sunday morning off. This gives everyone an opportunity to reset for the Lenten Season and Easter. The next pre-record will be the Sunday after Easter.
We are currently working on a newsletter and hope to have it out to you at the beginning of March. This newsletter will bring more detail to the Lenten Season and worship plans for the next several weeks.
Ash Wednesday is March 2, with worship at 6:30pm. All the Wednesday evening worship services will begin at 6:30pm. This year we are using the series: “In View of God’s Mercy.” I think you will enjoy the series as it is family friendly and we will be offering a children’s sermon on four of the evenings. On the last evening of our Wednesday evening schedule, we will be offering a Healing Service. I’ll detail that in my newsletter.
Our stewardship campaign, “God’s Grace”, is going well. At this writing we have 13 of our 22 Foundational Givers. If you would like to be a Foundational Giver, please contact me directly. As we enter the campaign on Ash Wednesday, March 2, you are invited to participate in the “God’s Grace” campaign. Please write “God’s Grace” on your check memo. The campaign will run through Easter morning. Thank you for your ongoing generosity, giving and gifting to Peace Lutheran, and for your consideration of the campaign with your sacrificial gifts.
Middle School and High School Youth are going bowling on Saturday, February 26, from 1:00-3:00pm. Please send money for bowling, which we believe should be approximately $25 (bowling and shoe rental). Bring additional funds for refreshments. It would be helpful if you would email our Youth Director, Jessie Hodgson of your intention to attend. This will give us an idea of how many lanes we will need. His email is [email protected]
There has been an increase in the use of our Food Shelf. Thank you so much for your ongoing donations! In addition, we are also prepping our supplies for Holiday Easter Baskets. At this time, we are asking for canned chicken and tuna, pancake mix and syrup, boxed oatmeal packets, spaghetti sauce and noodles, pasta and rice side dish pouches, mac and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, crackers, kid friendly cereals and snacks, as well as the usual items.
Office hours next week are: Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 8:30am-Noon, and Thursday morning from 8:30am-Noon for those of you who have made in-person appointments with me.
