Office hours are normal for the next two weeks: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30am-Noon. Please use these times to drop off offerings and donations to the Food Shelf. Thank you for your ongoing generous gifting and giving to the ministries of Peace Lutheran.
It’s time to sign up for Vacation Bible School. VBS is Monday through Friday, August 1-5, from 900am-Noon. The theme this year is “Food Truck Party.” The cost is $25 per child/ or $60 per family. You can sign-up online or pick up a registration at the welcome desk on Sunday mornings. It’s going to be a lot of fun! I hope to see you at VBS in August!!
There are sign-ups for Communion Servers on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall. If you can help serve, please sign up. Also, if you are interested in Ushering, please see Carol Dahling. Carol is our Head Usher and can be found on Sunday mornings by the main Sanctuary doors. I know she would love to have you join the group.
If you are interested in working on the flower beds around the church building, please let the office know. We need a few people who are interested in doing some ‘bed’ clean-up and nurturing the flowers and landscaping around the building.
As I was packing to leave for Norway on Friday, I was remembering that I will be absent from worship. Then, I looked at my summer calendar and realized, that like many of you, I will be gone on a couple of trips this summer, and will be out of town and away from worship. In considering this, I thought that it would be fun to have a “Cabin Campaign,” for those of us who are taking advantage of some ‘long awaited’ vacations. I would invite those who are able to consider an additional, financial gift during these summer months. Even though my regular giving is through ‘First Fruits,’ I’ve decided to give an additional $500 this summer.
Because of your generosity, Peace Lutheran has kept a strong financial position these last two years. I think the “Cabin Campaign” is a great option for those of us who will be away enjoying the lake, the cabin, and vacations of all sorts. I hope you will join me in this campaign, and together, we keep Peace Lutheran trending toward financial strength over these next three months. Reach out to me through cell, text, or email if you plan on joining me in this fun “Cabin Campaign.”
As you know, I will leave for Norway on Friday, and will be out of country for 11 days. I have arranged pastoral coverage while I am away. If you have an emergency, please contact the church office and a ‘coverage pastor’ will contact you. Hopefully, we won’t have any emergencies. If you contact me, try to be aware of the time difference. I will be living the day 8 hours ahead of you. In the meantime, take care…be safe…
