Weekly Announcements from Pastor Valerie Brown-Greenly, Senior Pastor
Dear Friends,
I hope you are having a good week. We’ve certainly been seeing some summer type weather these last days. With school getting out, summer fun is just around the corner. I don’t have too many new announcements this week.
Our Office Manager, Debbie Clipson, retires at the end of the month. There is a coffee and cake reception for her on Sunday, July 17, following the 10:00am service. If you are not able to be with her that morning, please send your cards and well wishes to the Church Office and we will make sure she receives them on the 17th.
Julie Barthels has accepted the position of Office Manager and will do training with Debbie at the end of the month. Julie comes to us from another ELCA congregation, and will begin with us on Monday, July 11. Please come in to greet and welcome her that week.
Pastor Tim Shroeder and Chris Bollenbach are getting married in July. We rejoice with them and will celebrate their wedding with a cake and coffee reception on Sunday, August 7, following the 10:00am service! If you can’t be with us that morning, please send your cards and well wishes to the Church Office and we will make sure they receive them on the 7th.
Peace Community Garden is going strong. Please take some time to walk the garden and greet the gardeners this summer. It’s going to be a great season!
Office hours remain the same next week: Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 8:30am-Noon and Thursday morning by appointment. Please use those times to drop off offerings and food shelf items.
Thank you for bringing donations for the Food Shelf. Your donations are appreciated! We need all of our usual requests, including cereal, oatmeal packets, canned meats, pasta and sauce, spaghetti, mac and cheese, peanut butter, jelly, personal needs like toothbrushes and toothpaste, toilet paper and paper towels, and kid friendly snacks and crackers are always welcome.
If you are planning vacations and time away at the lake or cabin, which takes you away from worship at Peace, please consider joining the “Cabin Campaign” and making an additional financial gift to the church. The summer months take many of us away from the community, and with the fun travels and vacations, I want to remind us to attend to the financial strength and ministry goals of our congregation. This ‘ask’ is only for those who are able to make additional gifts, it is not meant for those who are struggling financially. If you are struggling in any way, please reach out so we can find ways to meet your needs. Please contact me of your interest in the “Cabin Campaign”, or with any other questions, concerns or needs.
