A Message from Pastor Valerie
Dear Friends,
We are in the season of Advent, and as we prepare for Christmas celebrations, I think most of us would agree that Christmas feels early this year. In this time of busy-ness, most of us don’t know how we will get everything done! I hope your preparations are going well, and that you are doing well!
Looking ahead at our services: Christmas Eve worship at 10:00 am, 4:00 pm and 10:00 pm, and each of these services features special music, candlelight and Holy Communion. There will be a special Children’s Time at the 4:00 pm service. All Christmas Eve services ARE being livestreamed. Worship on Sunday Christmas Day and New Year’s Day at 10:00 a.m. and in person only, no livestream.
Thank you to all of you who donated food for the Christmas food baskets, and all who were able to donate gift cards for the families and friends of our congregation. If you would like to help us pack baskets, please join us on Monday morning, December 19, at 9:00 am. We will pack the food donations, and then when Cub Food arrives at 11:00 am, we will finish putting them together. If you are able to help, please text me so I know how many to expect. Your help is appreciated and makes the day more fun! Thank you in advance!!
As the Building for the Future campaign continues. I want to thank those of you who stepped up and made additional contributions for the mission and ministry of Peace Lutheran and for those of you who donated funds for the specific purpose of paying down the line of credit. As we travel through this month and into the new year, I believe we will continue to trend toward financial strength. Please continue to pray about your gifting and giving, with a heart toward God’s blessing of abundance. Remember though, we want those who can and who are inspired to do so to give; but, if you are struggling to make ends meet to support your family, or on a fixed income, unemployed or underemployed, we want to be of support.
Office hours will continue to be the same, 8:30 am – noon, Monday – Thursday, as we go forward in January. We have staff in the office in the afternoons and would encourage you to call ahead if you have items to pick up or drop off. As far as small groups meeting during the day, please call the office to add your meeting to the calendar.
I hope all who are able will join us for in person worship on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! All of the services will be beautiful and a wonderful time to worship with family and friends as we celebrate the birth of our Lord.
Blessings to you this Holy Season! Take care… be safe…
