I hope you are having a good week! This email contains some reminders for the upcoming weeks.
A coffee and cake reception will be held for Debbie Clipson on Sunday, July 17, following the 10:00am service. Debbie is retiring from her position as Office Manager. If you aren’t able to join us that morning, please send your cards and well wishes to the Church Office and we will make sure she receives them on the 17th.
Julie Barthels has accepted the position of Office Manager and will begin with us on Monday, July 11. Please stop in and welcome her that week. Julie comes to us from another ELCA congregation.
As many of you know Pastor Tim and Chris Bollenbach are getting married next month. We will have a coffee and cake reception for them on Sunday, August 7, following the 10:00am service. If you are unable to attend, please send your cards and well wishes to the Church Office and we will make sure they receive them on the 7th.
Remember: Sunday, July 3, worship is a pre-record and will be available at 10:00am. This means there is no in-person worship on Sunday, July 3. As you know, we have a pre-record every 8 or 9 weeks; this gives me the opportunity to have my whole staff on break. The next pre-record will be Labor Day weekend.
Thank you to those of you who have joined the “Cabin Campaign”! In review, this campaign is an invitation to make an additional, financial gift to Peace Lutheran over the summer months. If you are reading the emails, we included an update on our current financial position from David Westlund, our treasurer. In general, we are currently in a position of financial strength: although, envelope and regular giving has been trending down. This trend is not unusual during the weeks of summer. Even so, as a congregation, we need to be in front of this trend so when September arrives, and programs and activities start up, we are prepared. Thank you for your ongoing support and for your financial giving and gifting to Peace Lutheran!
Office hours are limited next week due to training in the office. Please stop in on Tuesday or Wednesday mornings between 8:30-Noon. There are no office hours on Thursday, June 30. We hope this doesn’t cause any inconvenience.
COVID 19 update: We are monitoring the trending COVID 19 cases. There has been an uptick in cases, and this will be an upward trend in the days to come. I will not require masks in worship, as I believe when fall and winter arrive, we will have some opportunities for mandatory masking again. For the time being, I believe it is wise to practice masking if you are able to. Again, I will encourage it and will not require it at this time. Our staff will continue to mask for the foreseeable future. If you have any questions and/or concerns, please reach out to me via email, text, or cell call.
