Message from Pastor Valerie
Dear Friends,
I hope you enjoyed the newsletter and the reminders of fall startups and Rally Day activities. Please remember that Rally Day is Sunday, September 10th! Please come casual for outdoor worship, activities, and a service project and picnic! Worship is at 10 am, following with a few games for the children, a service project and picnic. Hope to see you here!!
In the last several days there has been an uptick of COVID in the community. Many members of Peace have been diagnosed with COVID and are recovering. If you feel unwell, please stay in and take care of yourself. If you need/desire/want, please feel free to mask if you wish. Having an influx of COVID will happen throughout the year, probably and especially when the cold temperatures return and we are inside more and more. I encourage you to stay safe and to mask as you wish. I will not be requiring masking at this time, although, there may be occasions when staff is masking. Please contact me if you have any concerns regarding masking or safety.
Wednesday morning Bible Study will resume on Wednesday, September 13 at 10 am. All are welcome!
Please take note of the confirmation orientation information as in your newsletter. Remember that orientation is for everyone: new students, returning students and all the 9th graders being confirmed in September.
There has been a lot of illness, hospitalizations, and members’ deaths in the last few weeks. Thank you to everyone who has helped with luncheons and other needs around Peace.
Let’s keep all the teachers, paras, school employees, parents and students in our prayers this week as they gear up for another school year! Let’s remember all of our college students who have started classes and their families who support their efforts! We pray that everyone has a wonderful fall!!
On a personal note, I want to thank the congregation of Peace Lutheran and our Church Council for the wonderful celebration of my 35th Ordination Celebration! It was a wonderful worship and brunch!! Thank you so much for the wonderful cards, gifts and for those of you who reached out through email, text and call! It was a great day!!
Take care… be safe…
Pastor Valerie
